
Wagoner was still a frontier community when First National Bank - the predecessor of First Bank & Trust Company - opened its doors here in 1895. On August 1, 1895, a charter was issued by the Treasury Department to the First National Bank of Wagoner, Indian Territory, and on October 1, 1895 the bank opened for business.
