Community Center in Flint, MI The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan has partnered with the Food Bank Council of Michigan in their efforts to expand the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach. known as Food Assistance Program (FAP) Food Stamps and the Bridge Card, SNAP is tailored to alleviate several of the pressure involved in securing proper nutrition for struggling families across the nation. With the ever growing need, we're making a huge effort to expand the reach of this program to as many areas as possible.

About Us
read moreThe Food Bank of Eastern Michigan serves as a common solicitor, storehouse and distributor of food to member non-profit and charitable organizations in 22 counties. Once food arrives at the Food Bank, it is sorted, inspected and made available to partner agencies such as churches, soup kitchens, and food pantries to distribute to those in need. All Food Bank partner agencies are required to distribute food, without charges or fees, to needy clients. The Food Bank procures food from surpluses in the grocery industry.

We accommodate everyone ranging from individuals to large groups from businesses and community organizations interested in giving back to the community. Each year, nearly 7,000 people volunteer at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. In just one hour, a single volunteer sorts enough food to feed 355 people! Volunteers are critical to our mission - THANK YOU for helping us feed the hungry in our communities!
