The company's rapid growth and success caused Mike to stay with it rather than looking for another job after graduation with his MBA. In 1973, fresh out of high school, Ralph Batsel and Don Flecky were hired to work at Foxx as part-time evening janitors for the (at that time) huge wage of $2.25 per hour. What began as part-time jobs while going to college, turned into full-time positions in the operations side of the business, and ultimately became careers.
