Mark Fritz graduated from Maine Township High School South in June, 1985. He was the salutatorian and a Maine Scholar. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he gained a B. S. In Electrical Engineering in December 1987. He was a James Scholar in Engineering and was a member of the engineering honor societies Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. He was on the dean's list in all 5 semesters he was an undergraduate and won the undergraduate mathematics competition in 1987.

read moreA cataract is a cloudiness of the natural lens of the eye. The lens of the eye is behind the pupil, the center dark part of your eye. When the lens becomes cloudy and interferes with your daily activities, it often makes sense to remove the cataract. Cataract surgery is an outpatient surgery. Most of the time, some sedative is given through an IV, and then we use drops for anesthesia. There is rarely a need for a stitch. However, I do suggest a shield for each patient so they do not rub their eye in the first 24 hours.
