Ganser

Ganser Company has been a family-owned business since its founding in 1939. The firm, initially known as Ganser Home Improvement, was established by Ernest Ganser, a former dairy farmer from Lodi, WI. Ernest moved his family to Madison in 1939 after their prize dairy herd was destroyed by tuberculosis. Already 50 years old, Ernest found it difficult to work for anyone else, so he decided to begin his own shingle roofing firm. In the beginning, the firm employed five men, including Ernest's sons, Hugh and Lenard.
