George Downs Roofing

In 1978, GAF-Elk Corporation of Texas started production of fiberglass nonwovens in our Ennis, Texas facility. While Ultra-Mat was originally developed for the roofing industry, GAF-Elk expanded its capabilities to include development and sales of both fiberglass and polyester mat for a range of non-roofing markets. Today, GAF-Elk enjoys a solid presence and leadership position in the development and production of polyester nonwoven products, wet-laid industrial fiberglass products, and products with blends of fibers.
