After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the attack on the Pentagon on the same day, the security industry was shaken, both private and governmental. There is a definitely a need to reply to the growing threat of terrorism, and a need to keep up with the rapid changing technology used within the industry and against it by criminals. The World Trade Center has suffered from being bombed twice, and to bring it all the way home, the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City fell victim to American Domestic terrorism.
