Named after the freewheeling gypsy, Gitane is a modern, funky, and artistically bold restaurant situated in downtown San Francisco between the financial district and Union Square. Chef Bridget Batson creates thoughtful dishes inspired from the Iberian peninsula, situated on the SW tip of Europe. Batson's cuisine incorporates regional flavor profiles from Spain, Portugal, Southern France and neighboring Morocco. An elevated bar program pairs these exotic tastes and sensations with unique Sherries, Cavas, Madeiras, Spanish brandies.

read moreIt is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our landlord has decided not to extend our lease forcing us to close our beloved Gitane. Our last supper will be served on Saturday, February 17th. We will be offering a Valentine's Inspired Prix Fixe menu until then ($40 per person with optional $20 wine pairings) in addition to our regular menu.
