Back in the early 1980s, James Goldthorpe bought a piece of property forlorn and over grown with weeds, 6 miles S of Galena. He knew after critical inspection that with experience, finances, and backbreaking sweat equity, he could one day have a magnificent country inn. He worked hard and long, and today that property is recognised as The Goldmoor Inn. Towering high on a bluff, overlooking the mighty Mississippi River, The Goldmoor Inn encompasses a view you can only dream about.

The facility is complete with lighting, sound system, and ceiling fans. The Pavilion sits on the cusp of the inner meadow surrounded by beautiful flowered gardens.
