The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation, North Charleston's premier golf facility was developed keeping the richest traditions of Lowcountry golf. The 27-hole course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan with an attempt to capture the old traditional flavor of low flowing earthworks, classic bunkering, and each hole separated and framed by the vegetation. The routing of the golf course, combined with the abundant trees supplies a sense of isolation in that you rarely ever see another golf hole other than the one you are playing.

It features a driving range with grass and artificial tees, a short game area including a large sand bunker, and a putting green with a chipping area. The driving range has a variety of pin locations at different yardages for fine-tuning your iron shots. Players can upgrade their short game by utilizing the large sand bunker, the putting green, or the chipping area next to the green.

The site is much better than the average low country site in that all 27 holes are tree-lined, resulting in an excellent definition of the golf holes. The routing of the golf course, combined with the abundant trees provides a sense of isolation in that you rarely ever see another golf hole other than the one you are playing. Each of the three nines stretches to over 3,550 yards from the back tees, so any combination of nines will result in a back tee length of over 7,100 yards.
