Hammer Industries. Was established by brothers Ralph and Thomas Hammer in July 1979. Ralph had just ended two manufacturing ventures which started in the early 1960's manufacturing metal lawnmower wheels. Tom's background was in maintenance and manufacturing, so the pairing was perfect with Ralph handling sales and the business aspects, while Tom was in charge of manufacturing. Originally, Hammer Industries intended only to market one or two sizes of agricultural wheels to a local farm equipment manufacturer situated in Evansville, Indiana, USA.
