Government in Topeka, KS
Government in Topeka, KS Yes, everyone reads the Kansas unemployment statistics every month, and it turns out that currently, unemployment in the state is about 6. 7 percent, but that really does not mean much, does it? The statewide statistics don't really put bodies Kansans in clear focus of the now-75-year old program that supplies weekly benefits to Kansans who have lost their job through no fault of their own. That no fault of their own, of course, does not mean fired for doing something wrong or not showing up. Rather, the no fault of their own means basically that their employer has just told them that their job has disappeared.

Joan Finney's apparel choice was a factor among many that led to the creation of Hawver's Capitol Report, which has evolved over 25 years from an 8-page, 40-times-a-year, snail-mailed newsletter to a news service providing-via e-mail-the Flash, Newsletter & Bulletin, plus the mailed Annual Hawver Kansas Legislative Guide.
