Homer obtained his 1st franchise for bus service between Escondido and Oceanside in 1945. Originally this station wagon was used to transport auto parts. Established in 1941, Homer Heller and his wife Helen, operated the dealership which began on a tiny corner on Grand Avenue. Pictured left to right: John R. Crenshaw, Homer Heller, Fred Rich-driver, and Percy Evans, owner of Escondido Daily Times Advocate. The two-story concrete block structure of modernistic design featured expansive plate glass show windows and a special display window where the latest model revolved.
