We currently have an interesting story as far as our history is concerned. The original Illinois National Bank (INB) with more than a century of service, was a casualty of the bank mergers and acquisitions in the late 1990's. INB was acquired by a very huge institution, and local decision making in the Springfield market was non-existent. Recognizing a void, a group of local investors and former Illinois National Bank employees set about forming the 2nd generation of INB - and opened the doors for the 2nd time on June 21, 1999.
