The Immigration Project is the only BIA Accredited non-profit supplier of immigration legal services situated S of I-80 in Illinois. At the present time we supply four kinds of program services: Information, Counseling and Referral; Immigration Application Support; Assistance for Immigrant Crime Victims; and New Americans Citizenship Initiative. We have an Outreach program that supports these services.

Recognizing that access to accurate, complete information regarding immigration law is geographically and economically restricted for underserved immigrant populations in downstate Illinois, the Immigration Project endeavors to provide access to justice for immigrants and their families through immigration-related legal and educational services to immigrants, refugees, their families and others in downstate Illinois, in a manner and context which recognizes the full dignity of each individual.

These are the immigration stories of our agency. Abigaelle joined the Immigration Project as an intern in 2016. She provides valuable service to our agency through case work and French and Lingala translation and interpretation. Abigaelle's family came to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) when her mother was granted a visa through the Diversity Immigrant Visa program.
