Training Courses in Ontario, CA Since 1968, the Training Centers of Southern California has prepared nearly 10, 000 women and men for a career in the machining, tooling, and manufacturing industry. Providing a huge spectrum of training, all three locations offer modern classrooms, state-of-the-art machinery for extensive hands-on practice, and instructors possessing vital experience and knowledge within the industry. Students are afforded the highest caliber of instruction, including computer lab and actual machining of parts for the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed.

Student Services
read moreNTMA Student Services provides listings of resources you may need while attending the training. Our comprehensive reference book includes services that range from bus passes, housing, food banks to medical and childcare. While NTMA does not provide on campus living (housing, transportation, childcare, etc.) a current listing of resources is available by contacting our Student Services Representative. Student Services also provides academic advising to all students to ensure satisfactory progress is met while attending.
Scholarships
read moreThe NTMA scholarships were developed to help reduce financial burden and aid students in paying for their education. Our scholarships are funded by our industry, by those that want to strengthen manufacturing, and want to keep machining thriving. NTMA Training Centers awards one $500 scholarship to one student and is presented at the school's graduation event. The NTMA Board will announce recipients at their annual Installation Dinner held in January. Travers Tool is proud to announce the Metalworking Student Scholarship, which offers $1,000 in tools for students enrolled in metalworking programs at vocational and technical schools.

Programs
read moreThis program is the basics of machining. Students learn the set up and operation of conventional machining equipment such as grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, and saws. Instruction is also provided in safety, quality control and inspection procedures, shop theory, precision measuring instruments, mathematics, blueprint reading, and basic CNC operation. Instruction time is divided equally between classroom, computer lab, and shop, providing a unique blend of practical theory and hands-on experience.
