read moreISI operates a full service Geotechnical Laboratory equipped to perform all of the common and many of the advanced geotechnical tests required by our clients. Located in Berkeley, this laboratory is inspected by, and maintains accreditations, with AMRL/AASHTO and Caltrans as well as enrolled in the Reference Sample Program. Our lab supervisor, John Hunt, has over 17 years of experience and is a certified NICET Level III, American Concrete Institute (ACI) in Concrete Lab Testing Technician Level 1, Concrete Strength Testing Level 1, Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1, Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 and is certified in various Caltrans Test Methods.

read moreISI provides a full range of Special Inspection Services - that is, monitoring of materials and workmanship critical to the integrity of the building structure - in order to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and relevant building codes and ordinances. The special inspection process is required in accordance with the California Building Code (CBC), Chapter 17 for most construction projects and for the CBC Title 24 Chapter 17A for OSHPD and DSA projects. These special inspections are in addition to inspections conducted by the jurisdiction.
