CWL was established in 2000 by Cliff Lunney for the goal of owning and operating 3 Jimmy John Gourmet Sandwich Franchisees. Shortly after that, while Cliff was having a beer with Dan Lovejoy at their favorite Pub in Royal Oak Michigan, they agreed to become business partners. The terms of the deal were listed on the Pub napkin and to make it official Cliff and Dan signed it. The 1st location opened in Downtown Royal Oak on March 15th 2001. Today CWL owns and operates 18 locations with several more under construction.
