read moreThe firm was established in 1979 by Jarvis W. Irving, who began his career as a CPA on the audit staff of one of the world's largest accounting firms. At the conclusion of a brief diversion into the health food restaurant business, Jarvis met with his then landlord to organize the assignment of the lease to the new owner. The landlord, a CPA himself, inquired about Jarvis's plans, and immediately retained Jarvis to audit two buildings that he was converting to cooperative ownership. This fortuitous event landed Jarvis his first client, and this professional and personal relationship continues to this day.
