Joliet Jaguars

The Jaguar Hockey Club was established in 1979. Club hockey replaced the Joliet Pioneers which was run by the Joliet Park District. The Jaguars played in the Greater Chicago Minor Hockey Association in the early 80's then moved to the North Suburban Hockey League in the mid-80s. In 1989/90, the Jaguars joined the Northern Illinois Hockey League. On August 16, 1991, one day before fall registration, the Inwood Ice Arena burned to the ground. In the two years it took to build the new rink, 35 families stayed together to form a Mite A2 staff, a Mite AA staff, and a Squirt AA staff.
