In 1951, the citizens of Charlotte decided to develop a college-style campus consisting of 13 buildings on 62 acres reflecting community support for excellence in public education. Buildings are centered around a quadrangle, commonly known as the quad. Myers Park's tree-lined campus is situated in one of the Queen City's most pretty neighborhoods. Myers Park is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In the spring of 2009, Newsweek ranked Myers Park 43rd among America's top 100 high schools.
