About Us
read moreASK ANY SUCCESSFUL PERSON THE SECRET FOR THAT SUCCESS, and he or she will point out by name the person or persons who first saw the potential. Who believed when no one else did. Who provided the support and encouragement and nurturing and - at times - a helping hand. The road to success is not a solitary journey. But when we falter, or an obstacle blocks the path, it's important to have others there beside us to help along the way. And when we are presented with an opportunity to be the person who makes a difference and lends that helping hand, are we not only obligated, but also blessed to do so?

History
read moreIn 1986, faith-based organizations in Virginia Beach came together to try to help people around the oceanfront who were hungry. In the beginning, meals were served only on Saturdays but there was such a need that very quickly dinners were being served Monday through Saturday. On July 13, 1995, Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (JCOC) became the official name of the organization. Today, by partnering with over 100 volunteer groups, churches, synagogues, civic groups and individuals, we serve over 86,000 free meals annually to our residents as well as to any of our neighbors in need 365 days a year!
