Key GT

G. T. Key Companies. Was founded as an electrical firm in 1933 by Griffin T. Key II on property that was once the 1st electrical substation in Montgomery, Alabama. The building still stands today. During the 1940s the firm graduated from tiny domestic jobs to working for the Rural Electrification Administration on Alabama lines, as well as designing distribution systems for several Alabama cities. On his passing, the business was handed down to his son, Griffin T. Key III who continued the tradition of industrial and commercial electrical contracting.
