In 1986, Doug Knorr faced a dilemma. Should he start an Advertising Agency in Detroit or in the 4-season resort town of Traverse City in northern Lower Michigan? With a wife, 5 kids and a love of the outdoors, it was a no-brainer. Traverse City, with its scenic beauty and tiny-town atmosphere was chosen. Having sold hospital provides and advertising time for radio stations, Doug had been asked many times by clients to begin his own agency. When he decided to take the plunge, he knew his agency had to be different.
