In 1988 Frank Lavorato, and his wife Bonnie started with three flavors of barbecue sauce and a dream of one-day producing sauce for other firms. Thus, the firm was named Private Label Foods. The sauce was cooked in a 50-gallon steam jacketed kettle, hand capped and labeled in their house. As sales increased, so did the need for more space. In 1991, they re-situated to a 3, 200 square foot manufacturing facility. With Private Labeling becoming increasingly popular, the phones were ringing with clients who wanted their sauce bottled.
