I graduated from law school in 1976 and spent few years at the Middlesex County District Attorneys office during a time when there were few female district attorneys. During my tenure as an assistant district attorney, I tried 100's of cases, earning invaluable courtroom knowledge and trial preparation skills. I opened my own law practice in 1981, when women attorneys were still thought of as girls and were not typically known as aggressive defense attorneys. I was considered an oddity when I walked into the courtroom and began cross-examining police officers.
