Disability Services in Fort Wayne, IN The Allen County League for the Blind. ACLB) was set up as a non-profit corporation on October 17, 1950 to supply educational, employment and rehabilitation services for people who were blind. Funding for the League's 1st two-year budget of $15, 000 came from a donation of $6, 000 from the Junior League of Fort Wayne and a direct appeal to local citizens by Ms. Helen Keller who came to Fort Wayne in 1949 to help the Center with its 1st fund raising effort.

read moreThe purpose of The League's Independent Living Services Division is to assist people with severe disabilities to gain the personal living skills and service supports that they need to remain in their home and community setting. Our in home service providers can help with household chores such as trash removal, meal planning and preparation, laundry, housekeeping tasks, and more. They can also assist with personal care - bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, skin care, medication reminder, and transferring and mobility assistance.
