I got so tired of singing Friends at camp one year (I think we sang it throughout the week perhaps 7 or 8 times) that I went home and wrote a replacement song called You'll Always Be My Friend. It was the 2nd song I ever wrote, and it is still a favorite as a closing to my concerts. I understand a fraction of what Michael W. Smith must feel like every time he's begged to sing that song! But when God gives you a song that ministers to people, it's for them and it must be sung. So I began to sing.
