At Live Oak we employ a centuries-old pattern of learning known as the Trivium (Latin for three ways) 1st implemented in the Middle Ages. This method teaches in accord with the student's natural grain in three stages - acquiring the basic factual data in a given discipline (Grammar) thinking deeply and reasoning carefully to discern the inter-relationship of the facts within a discipline and between disciplines (Logic) and then synthesizing what is earned in the 1st two stages to formulate, articulate and defend one's own positions in speech and writing (Rhetoric)

We have created a thorough admissions process in an attempt not to be exclusive but to be inclusive of families who strongly desire a classical Christian education. Live Oak is a school committed to academic excellence and spiritual development, while instilling in students a love for learning and providing an orderly, nurturing atmosphere are priorities.

Academics
read moreLive Oak offers a Christian classical education beginning in the Grammar years (Junior Kindergarten to grade 6), proceeding through the Logic years (grades 7th-9th), and concluding in the Rhetoric years (grades 10th-12th). In the fall of 2004, a Grammar School for Kindergarten through 5th grade was opened. In 2009-10, we began to offer Junior Kindergarten - Rhetoric I (10th grade students). Our first graduating class of Rhetoric III (12th grade) graduated in the year of 2011-2012. Our school is one of the largest private schools in Waco and one of few to offer a full 14-year program.
