In 1898, Reverend L. L. Sams, equipped with integrity, a deep experience of the Bible, and a catalog, started a pastoral sideline of selling church furniture. The sideline put his kids through college, and they came back to build it into a business. In 1946 Reverend Sams' sons started manufacturing, and in less than 20 years L. L. Sams & Sons became the biggest exclusive manufacturer of church furniture in the world. In 1998, approximately 100 years from the Company's initial founding, as the firm was considering the relocation to a modern manufacturing facility.
