Set up in 1982, the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is a non-profit organization contracted with the City of Long Beach to sell, market and promote Long Beach as a destination for tourism and conventions. The CVB worked with city and community leaders to bring several high profile special events to the city, including: the 2004 US Olympic Swim Trials, Royal Rendezvous between the Queen Mary and Queen Mary 2, AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Dog Show and, most recently, Red Bull New Year No Limits Jump and the TED Conference.
