I can't say enough good things about Texeira. If you have decided to go with soapstone (and it is certainly beautiful), this is the place. Their selection of soapstones is great. Maria took the time to work through the details of your project and made some great suggestions. Their measurement and cutting systems are state of the art. Aaron did a great job with the install and was all about our satisfaction with the product. Beyond the call of good service, we had a misunderstanding over the positioning of one of our stabs. They worked with us to rectify the situation to our full satisfaction at no cost to us. It does not get better than that.

I need more stars! All of the employees are wonderful, professional, friendly, and helpful. Maria is AWESOME!
I'm so excited about the final product in my new kitchen. We're in NC but my heart is in NJ. TextieraSoapstone ships all over! They even had my dream sink on sale!
Like I said before.... Not enough stars in the sky to outshine TextieraSoapstone!

About Us
read moreSoapstone is steadily gaining popularity as one of the best materials to use for countertops, stone fireplaces, sinks, and more. Due to its impervious qualities, soapstone has also been used to fabricate chemistry lab tops, acid room sinks, and lab shelving (fun fact: M. Teixeira Soapstone has supplied soapstone to many high schools in the NY area). Read on to learn all about our favorite stone. Soapstone (also known as Steatite) is a metamorphic rock that consists primarily of talc. Depending on the quarry from which it is sourced, it also contains varying amounts of other minerals such as micas, chlorite, amphiboles, quartz, magnesite and carbonates.
Soapstone Countertops
read moreHomeowners who want an exquisite and exclusive product in their home are choosing soapstone countertops over granite and other natural stone surfaces. Untreated soapstone results in shades of light gray. If you choose this option, you will eventually get oil and other spills on the soapstone. That will darken the soapstone in spots, but will not stain it, since soapstone is non-porous. You can either clean it a common household cleaner or you can use a household steel-wool pad to clean that spot.
Soapstone Sinks
read moreSoapstone has been used for wash tubs and sinks since the 1800s because of its durability and easy maintenance. Many homes today still have the original soapstone sinks and wash tubs from that bygone era. Our soapstone sinks are custom crafted from 1 1/4 inch soapstone slabs. Although these dimensions are "not written in soapstone", we suggest a few standard sizes. We at M. Teixeira Soapstone understand that every home is unique and may require slight size adjustments. That's why we do not an additional fee to custom design a sink to your specifications.
Silestone Countertops
read moreSilestone by Cosentino is engineered with quartz and other raw materials that are chosen for their resilience. Silestone is incredibly customizable. It can be found in colors that are vibrant and funky, dark and elegant, bright and fresh, neutral and earthy, and everything in between. Beyond the color, you can choose from four different styles (plain, veined, fine grain, and coarse grain), and three finishes - polished, suede, and volcano. Polished is a classic choice that deepens the color and offers a glassy shine.
