read moreManchester Community Music School, located in historic north Manchester, provides quality musical instruction, music therapy and performance opportunities for students and clients of all ages. The Music School is home to nearly 50 of New England's finest music educators and music therapists and over 1,200 students and clients from all across New Hampshire. As a cultural performance center, we offer programs in an environment that encourages participation, interaction, and enjoyment. We are dedicated to supporting the artistic development of the community through our programs, and our classes are open to all, regardless of age, race, national origin, physical challenges, or ability to pay.

read moreManchester Community Music School was founded in 1983 as the Greater Manchester Center for Arts & Music, located at 79 Dow Street. The school's roots stemmed from the Egmont Center for the Arts established in 1981 and the Greater Manchester Youth Orchestra established in 1982, housed at 32 Trenton Street (directly across the street from our present location!). The Music School encompassed both of those organizations in addition to providing a regular schedule of instruction in private and group lessons in voice, many instruments, theory and music history, dance, drama, and Suzuki piano and violin.

We work with our local communities providing musical opportunities that might not otherwise exist, while building a community of musicians at the school. We support programs in public schools, charter schools and through a variety of other partnerships. We also help you bring our musical community to your social events by hiring our talented faculty. read moreEnsembles provide a unique opportunity for students to perform with other music students from the surrounding area who share a strong interest in music and performance. Working together to further their musicianship, students will have the chance to learn, grow and develop both musically and socially.

read moreJoin us for a fun experience playing with others and becoming more rhythmically independent. Learn symphonic repertoire such as Mozart's Magic Flute Overture and fan favorites such as the music from Harry Potter. This ensemble performs several times a year at events such as the Holiday Pops, events outside the school, and our composer themed recitals. No audition required. Stop by any time to play with us on a rehearsal or hear a concert! Also accepting accompaniment instruments such as bass, piano, and percussion.
