read moreI know it's an odd way to begin an article to try and convince you why Manhattan Music may be your best choice when it comes to music for your event, but stick with me for a minute here, and it will become clear. However, what most bands are NOT talking about, is that our main job is to create a magnificent and fun event for you and your guests, and not give a great "concert." Different set of skills. That's why the video footage you'll see on this website is all live at events, so you can see how we can make the party happen for you and your guests.

There are several different musical styles of classical music you may want to consider in selecting music for your South Florida wedding ceremony. Pieces such as "Canon in D Major" by Pachelbel is arguably the most popular processional music for weddings. A harpist with a flute player, (referred to as a "flautist") are among the most popular instrumentation, often with the addition of a cellist. String quartets, trios, Woodwind quintets and brass choirs are sometimes used for dramatic effect.

read moreManhattan Music was amazing! I would never hire another band for a party again. They performed at my wedding at the Addison in Boca last month and as people left I was swamped with compliments for them. We had a wide variety of ages there from our friends in there twenties to our parents and their friends. Howard made sure to play a little for everyone. He played everything, current music, some of our parents favorites from the sixties, and softer songs while the food was served and people were sitting to eat.

It's a "reality show" where they choose four brides to attend each other's weddings and score them on certain criteria. The highest score wins a honeymoon. Here's a clip from the wedding we did at Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale with our 10 piece band. You don't get to see the band too much, however you'll hear all the positive comments about the music and the dancing. Plus some insights on what the other brides did and didn't like about the event that may be helpful in planning your own wedding!

Be sure to specify if you wish for the band to wear something other than "Tuxedo attire". Also make sure to specify if any "theme" related attire is requested. In general, Manhattan Music asks that you submit the Information Sheet provided to you on booking, (or downloadable from Final Details section of this site), about six weeks prior to your event.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with our choice to select Howard and Manhattan Music for our wedding. We could have chosen a less expensive band, but I stuck to my guns and opted for my first choice- Manhattan Music. Under Howard's direction, his band played music that got everyone, and I mean everyone, on the dance floor. We are still receiving compliments for our choice of bands and I know a couple of our friends booked Howard for their weddings as a direct result of attending our wedding.
