Maynor, Jr., M.D. grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and received his Medical Doctorate Degree from the University of Mississippi. He completed his internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital, the University of Texas in Dallas, and completed his ophthalmic surgery residency at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama.
