Library in Albany, NY The Village of Menands, which is located within the Town of Colonie has a long history of library use. On May 28, 1923 the Menands Public was chartered by the State of New York. Over the Years, the library has been housed in some different homes throughout the village, including 5 Menand Rd. The old school building and our present location 4 N. Lyons Ave. Where we moved in 1981.

read moreThe purpose of the Menands Public Library is to provide information, education, cultural and recreational resources, services and programs for people of all ages in the Menands community. To that end we offer our patrons access to the latest New York Times best selling books, newly released DVDs from both Hollywood and Bollywood plus audio books, juvenile literature, graphic novels and video games. We also host children's events and seasonal movie series throughout the year. Menands Public Library is a member of the Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS), a consortium of 29 public libraries in Albany and Rensselaer counties.
