Meridian Interstate Ban
Bank in Boston, MA
In 1848 an area in East Boston called Noodles Island had grown from pastures and woodlands into a center of commerce highlighted by shipbuilding, carpentry, sugar refining and iron foundries. Those early merchants and world-famous shipbuilders founded East Boston Savings Bank to cover the growing various immigrant populations settling into East Boston neighborhoods. The 1st meeting of incorporation was held on October 4, 1848. To this day, EBSB has continually endeavored to uphold the principles and ideals its founders set forth. As a main employer, and an important part of the community, the Bank remains committed to fostering growth and prosperity in the communities it serves.
