Messiah Lutheran Church

Religious Organization in Wichita, KS
Religious Organization in Wichita, KS The beginnings of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church reach back to 1963 when a canvass of homes in NW Wichita was made by the Wisconsin Synod Mission Board. The results showed potential for starting a new mission as soon as possible. A call was sent in 1965 to Pastor David Plocher, then at Winner, South Dakota. He came that summer to serve Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church at Halstead and to start resident mission work in Wichita. Bible study groups gathered in private homes until the Lord developed a nucleus of believers who wanted to hold public worship services.

About Us
read moreWe believe the Holy Bible is the true and inspired Word of God. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Sermons
read moreSummary: Mark tells us that Peter and Andrew and James and John left their jobs and their families "at once" and "without delay" in response to Jesus' call. Their eagerness to give Jesus priority in their lives challenges us to do the same. Summary: We hear about God's calling young Samuel to be his prophet. Samuel was needed, for we are told, "In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions." Still today, we need spokesmen for God whose attitude, before speaking, will be: "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."
