read moreThere are 193 countries in the world, and I have been to many of them. Each of the countries and cultures I've visited are unique and within them are their own subcultures. I've met people in villages that click for their language. I have laughed in Spanish, Swahili and half a dozen other languages that. I am constantly looking for the right combination of words to express an idea about the incredible work of Michigan's food banks and the families we serve. I strive to use words that help others visualize the heroic efforts of our FBCM network.
About Us
read moreThe Food Bank Council of Michigan (FBCM) was founded in 1984 through the cooperative efforts of the state's regional food banks. The purpose of FBCM was to implement a unified strategy to address and alleviate hunger statewide by increasing emergency food resources and advocating on behalf of the hunger relief network. At the time, many cities in Michigan faced unprecedented unemployment rates and communities suffered as a result. Michigan food banks stepped in to provide emergency support for families and individuals without enough food.
