Mike's Drum Shop has been one of Southern California's most successful drum shops for over forty years. Since February of 1968 we've been a part of the drumming community serving every stage of drummer from drum students to professional, career drummers. Mike's Drum Shop is now home to the largest cymbal room on the West Coast, The Cymbal Vault. We bring a team of teaching, touring and recording specialists and all of their combined years of knowledge to you for the ultimate drum experience.

read moreBased in Santa Barbara, California, Rockshop Academy was started by Dishwalla / Penfiteen Club drummer and Mike's Drum Shop owner George Pendergast, and David Young, the band's former manager, who guided Dishwalla from garage band to gold records and the #1 Billboard Rock Song of the Year. We are proud to now offer weeklong Summer Camp sessions, an ongoing year-round music club, and provide a location for young musicians to show their skills in front of a live audience. Mike's Drum Shop is no longer in the retail business.
Rockshop Academy
read moreRockshop Academy is proud to offer individual lessons in drums, guitar and bass, as well as band coaching. We teach all levels from beginning to advanced and have many success stories from our roster of students. If you're interested in drum lessons, we teach the rhythmic notation that is used for all instruments. We also teach rudiments and fundamentals as well as let the students play along to their favorite music. We prepare the student for school band, music school or for playing in a band.
