Wheelers Accessible Van Rental began in November 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona. Wheelers' was began with a great idea and an article from Cliff Crase at PN Magazine. Immediately following that article, Wheelers received calls and letter from all around the world searching for wheelchair accessible vans for rent. Wheelers expanded its operations in Arizona to include Florida, California, Texas and Hawaii. Soon Wheelers had 144 vans located around the country.
