During her time at USC, she interned at the ABC affiliate in Los Angeles, received a J. Paul Getty Internship for the Arts, and a scholarship to the National Association of Hispanic Journalists conference in Miami. Upon graduation, Monique Talford started her broadcast journalism career at the CBS affiliate in Charlotte, NC where she learned most of her videography and editing skills. While working at the Jefferson-Pilot owned station Monique Talford started an upstart graphic design and photography studio in Charlotte.
