In the early 1960s, Marshall Erdman, the founder of the firm, discovered an exciting new world of technology. During a trip to Europe, Erdman invested in machines that he shipped to his headquarters in Madison. It took nearly two years of perseverance to get the machines up and running, but the result was astounding. With the new machines, 15 employees could produce twice as much product in 20 percent of the time as 50 employees were capable to produce working full time.
