Book Store in Lexington, KY
The original Morris Book Shop was opened in 1937 by Jimmy Morris. After changing hands several times, the bookstore was obtained in the early 1950s by Joseph Houlihan, who owned & operated the store in downtown Lexington until 1978. The store offered new books on all subjects, and became a favorite destination for Lexington's book lovers. The new Morris Book Shop was opened in May 2008 by Wyn Morris. Although Wyn isn't related to the original proprietor, store director Hap Houlihan is the great-nephew of Joe Houlihan.
