About Us
read moreMark and Anna opened Mountain Eagle Karate in 2001. In addition to operating Mountain Eagle Karate, the Gormans have created a character development program for kids built around "life skills" for success. This program is a primary focus for our kids' classes and has been taught to thousands of Albuquerque children through the Gorman's partnership with APS, and private charter schools. Over the years, Mark and Anna have also designed and taught countless seminars on topics including Womens' Self-Defense, Child Safety, Stranger Danger, Cardio/Fitness, Tournament and Performance Skills, Self-Defense, Ground Defense and Grappling.

No matter what skill level they start at, they will improve, and they are free to take the time they need to develop their skills in an environment that suits their individual needs. Children as young as four can start in our Tiny Eagles program, but otherwise it is never too late to start learning karate. Whether you are four, fourteen, or sixty-four, we can help you start your martial arts education. We have always had a good mix of boys and girls in our classes, and if you think girls can't be tough, you haven't met our Mountain Eagle ladies!
