The Children's Academy was set up in 1981 by Susan Weller, a career educator with over twenty years of knowledge. Committed to the philosophy of Maria Montessori, the Academy's academic aims are to work with the entire child. The kids are encouraged by our nurturing team to gain their own personal potential using their unique presents. The Academy employs 8 highly qualified Montessori trained teachers, a French teacher, and a music teacher. We encourage parental involvement. Kids's Academy is proud of our Parents Association, which works closely with our teachers.

The noise level of a classroom is quiet and peaceful, promoting love and understanding. In order to fulfill our philosophy, we strongly urge parental involvement. We encourage the parents to visit at any time and to take part in many of our school activities and functions. This insures a feeling of security and closeness between teachers, parents and children.

read moreWe welcome the participation of parents at the Children's Academy. Parents can stop by at any time to observe or participate in learning with their child during the day. In addition, parents play a vital role at the Children's Academy by serving on The Parents Association of Children's Academy (PACA). PACA is responsible for planning field trips, holiday celebrations, holiday fundraisers, etc.
