The Musicians Union Local 6 is a labor union for professional musicians. Our mission is to improve the economic status, social position and general welfare of our members. We serve the following Bay Area locations: San Francisco, Alameda, Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, Emeryville, Albany, Marin County, and San Mateo County. Membership is open to all musicians and vocalists who work part-time or full-time in pop, rock, country, jazz, classical, folk or other areas of music making. We're affiliated with the American Federation of Musicians of the US and Canada (AFM)

In addition, Local 6 frequently negotiates single engagement agreements with willing employers, such as churches or choral groups, and these agreements are not included on the list below. Please contact our office if you would like to organize a group not listed below. CBAs provide protections such as working conditions, pension contributions and guaranteed wages.
