New England Organ Bank

More than 100, 000 Americans are waiting for lifesaving organ transplants and many more wait for donated tissues. On average, 17 people in this country die every day - 6, 600 each year - waiting for organ transplant. The reason is simple - a tragic shortage of donated organs and tissues. Although most people support donation, many have not taken the important step of signing up to be a donor. Now it is easier than ever to make your wishes known by signing up at the Donate Life New England Organ and Tissue Donor Registry.

They were wonderful during and after my son passed away 3 years ago. My son was an orgam donor, all the people that worked with me and my family were sympathetic and explained everything so well, making us feel cared for. They keep giving us updates, because bone tissue can be stored for up to 5 years. My son's donations has helped 58 prople so far. We even got to meet the person who got his kidney. The aftercare staff still send us cards on holidays, birthday and death date . My daughter is in college and has started a Donate Life club in her campus and speaks for Donate Life at different events of our families experience

I believe what they do is important and changes lives, but I am upset about some broken promises that I received when I was signing over my sons organs.

My husband of 31 years died suddenly of PEA Arrest 17 years ago. I consented to have him be a bone/tissue donor. I have been a volunteer/Donor Family Advisory Council member for NEDS (formerly LifeChoice Donor Services) for about 15 of those years.
