The president of Newton Piano 1st found his love in the violin. He began playing in the VA Symphony when he was 16 years old and continued for over fifty years. In the 1920's, Herbert Newton was taking lessons from a renowned violinist named I. E. Feldman. Born into a musical family, Herbert's mother was an expert organist and a pianist. Herbert started his journey with pianos when he realized that he disliked the way the technicians were tuning his piano. He mentioned this to his teacher, Feldman. Soon after that, Feldman went on a trip to New York and Philadelphia.
