read moreWelcome to The North Ward Center, a non-profit organization that is rich in history and service. Over 45 years ago, my father, Stephen N. Adubato founded The North Ward Center with one simple goal: to empower the residents of the North Ward of Newark by providing services designed to strengthen the family and the community. Since then, our services have expanded to the greater Newark area. I firmly believe that service to others is the highest purpose and I am honored to be in a position to lead an organization that has served the community so well for so long.

The North Ward Center, nestled in the heart of Newark's North Ward, has served as an anchor in the surrounding neighborhoods throughout Newark since we opened our doors in 1970. His father ran a gas station to eke out a living during the Depression. He moved up to a civil service job and later became the first director of the local Boys Club, which later was known as The Boys and Girls Club.
